  • Define the different forms of cancer. 

  • Recognize the risk factors and signs of cancer.

  • Describe the different treatments for cancer.

  • Identify the dental complications caused by cancer and its treatment.

  • Explain the importance of the hygienists’ role in treating cancer patients.



    ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:

    Sherry has 39 years of dental hygiene experience. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from Northern Arizona University and her Master of Dental Hygiene from Old Dominion University. She has worked across the United States and different countries due to her husband’s Army career. After settling in Virginia, Sherry has been working in a periodontal private practice office and is an adjunct clinical instructor for Northern Virginia Community College.  Sherry is an advocate for public health and interprofessional care. As an active member of VADHA, Sherry serves as the Liaison for The Virginia Free and Charitable Clinics.
